This link will give you a view of MUSC's renovation of the old Charleston High School in Charleston SC for use as part of their College of Health Professions. This building required much more renovation than Mt. Zion is expected to require. Also in the same link, note the Academy Hall renovation, another school example.

Another example of adaptive re-use of a 1920's school building, much larger than Mt. Zion but of similar design. This one apparently also required a more extensive renovation than we expect, perhaps due to it's intended use.

An excellent You-Tube video on an effort to save a school building in Tennessee. This effort is ongoing and the county recently approved $150,000 for asbestos removal in the building. As far as we can determine from prior feasibility studies, the only asbestos in Mt. Zion is within the boiler room, which can be sealed!

Profound website and video on a failed effort to save Denison High School in Denison, TX. Be sure to click on the video links at the bottom of the Save Denison page, especially the one titled "Ain't It Funny How Time Slips Away".

We found this one and it's just for fun. It's unrelated to Mt. Zion, but any of you who ever went to "watch the train come in" will enjoy it. If you can identify any of the people, let us know who they are. First one with a correct answer will get a FOMZI tee shirt (when we get them made up!)
